Historic chimney and brick work
Sandwich was settled in 1637 and the housing stock shows it. Around the historic district there are chimneys that have been standing for well over a century, and they need a different approach.
Older brick is softer than modern brick. Repointing it with a hard modern mortar traps moisture and cracks the brick from the inside out. We match the mortar to the masonry, not the other way around.

Yes, and it is usually the better way to do it. Building them together means the materials, levels and drainage are planned as one space. You will see the whole layout in a 3D design before we start.
My chimney is over 100 years old. Repair or rebuild?
Often it can be repaired. We look at whether the damage is limited to the crown and mortar joints, or whether the structure itself has moved. We will show you what we are seeing and tell you plainly which one it is. A rebuild is expensive and we do not recommend one that is not needed.
What happens if something is not right after the job is finished?
We come back and fix it. That is the whole answer.
